Sterling, VA (May 2, 2025) – Today, the Dulles Greenway announced road closures for Sunday, May 4, 2025 to accommodate the fifth annual Run The Greenway 5K and 10K race. The Dulles Greenway (Rt. 267 West) will be closed from Rt. 28 to Rt. 772 (exit 6 at Ashburn Village Blvd). The roadway will remain open for eastbound travel.
The closures will be in effect from 4:30 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 4 and will include the following exits onto the Dulles Greenway:
- 28 North on ramp to the Dulles Greenway
- 606 Old Ox Rd
- 607 Loudoun County Parkway
- Ramp G to 267 West from Eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway (DIAAH). All traffic exiting the airport expecting to use Ramp G to 267 West will be rerouted to Route 28 Northbound.
- Traffic exiting the Dulles Toll Road West bound must exit at 9A or 9B to avoid the Dulles Greenway closure.
Travelers should expect traffic delays at the intersection of Rt. 607 Loudoun Co Parkway and Shellhorn Rd. Variable message signs will be displayed one week prior to the event to inform the traveling public of the upcoming detour around the closure. The Dulles Greenway encourages travelers to use Waxpool Road to Rt. 772 or Rt. 28 North to Rt. 7 to bypass the event.
Run The Greenway, a family-friendly race, will convene 2,000 Northern Virginia runners and their families. Starting and finishing on Dulles Greenway at Loudoun Station near the Ashburn Metro Station, the race will feature a 5K, 10K, 800-meter Kids Fun Run and a virtual race option. Race participants will be able to access the event via the Ashburn Metro Station on the Silver Line, and there will be free event parking at Loudoun Station.
