STERLING, VA – The 6th Annual Run The Greenway, presented in partnership with Comstock Holding Companies and Loudoun Station, delivered one of its most impactful years to date, raising $266,429 in support of local nonprofits and Loudoun County Public Schools.

With this year’s success, the six-year total for the event now reaches $1,437,971.48, reinforcing its role as one of Loudoun County’s most meaningful community-driven initiatives.

A total of 2,216 runners participated in this year’s race, bringing the all-time participation to over 11,000 runners since the event’s inception.

A New Chapter: The Wellness Expo

New for 2026, the inaugural Run The Greenway Wellness Expo expanded the weekend into a full community experience. The Expo welcomed more than 1,200 runners and families, creating a space where participants could engage with 16 local health and wellness businesses ahead of race day.

The addition of the Expo marked a strategic step forward in building a more holistic, community-centered event, connecting participants not just to the race, but to resources that support long-term health and wellness.

Investing in the Next Generation

The event’s Healthy Kids Initiative continued to grow, with 29 LCPS schools participating in 2026. The initiative provides $10,000 in Physical Education grants, reinforcing the event’s commitment to youth health and activity across Loudoun County.
Leadership Perspective

“This event continues to prove what is possible when a community shows up for each other,” said Terry Hoffman, Public & Customer Relations Manager of the Dulles Greenway. “From our runners to our nonprofit partners to every family that came out this weekend, the impact goes far beyond race day. Introducing the Wellness Expo this year allowed us to deepen that connection and create an experience that supports our community in a more meaningful way.”
