Concrete barrier installation as part of shared-use path project
LOUDOUN – Weather permitting, the right lane along the westbound Route 606 (Old Ox Road) bridge over the Dulles Greenway (Route 267) will be closed Saturday, July 19, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to install concrete barrier as part of the Route 606 shared-use path project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The ramps from the westbound Dulles Greenway to westbound Route 606, and from westbound Route 606 to the eastbound Dulles Greenway will remain open, but drivers using these ramps are asked to use extra caution when merging.
The Route 606 shared-use path project is:
- Constructing a shared-use path along westbound Route 606 from Moran Road to the existing shared-use path at the eastbound Dulles Greenway off-ramp.
- Installing crosswalks, pedestrian signals and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps on the Moran Road side of the Route 606 intersection.
The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2026.
Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones. Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
