Scholarships & Sponsorships

The Dulles Greenway Citizenship Award

From the beginning, TRIP II provided funding for local youth sports teams, elementary school fundraisers, and high school graduation events. But in 2000, TRIP II established the annual Dulles Greenway Citizenship Award, a scholarship to assist graduating seniors from Loudoun County public high schools. The Dulles Greenway Citizenship Award was designed to commend & reward those students who consistently reflect excellence in character, and who have demonstrated their leadership skills by making a positive contribution to the community.

The award provides $2,000 to be used to any college or post-secondary institution expense. This year, sixteen students, one from each Loudoun County Public High Schools with a senior class; received a scholarship.

In addition to the Drive for Charity and scholarships the Greenway sponsors numerous local charities.

This is the 16th year the Greenway has offered this scholarship, and we’ve increased the scholarship amount to $2,000.  We will be awarding 16 scholarships this year, one to a student from each Loudoun County Public High School. The Dulles Greenway is delighted to offer these scholarships to outstanding high school seniors each year. In this way, we’re able to give back to the community, and express our appreciation to the thousands of residents of Loudoun County who travel the Greenway each day.
